It was supposed to be the highlight of my summer. I was at my first “real” concert, and I was beyond excitement. With giant X’s marked on my hands (so that no one would accidentally serve me, the minor, an alcoholic beverage), I swayed through Runner Runner, and danced to Good Charlotte. They were amazing bands, but they weren’t who I was there for.
Saved for last, was the amazing Yellowcard. My favorite band (the same one I have loved for years). I own almost all their records, and know their songs by heart; but, I have never actually seen them perform.
It was as Good Charlotte wrapped up their last song, that the rain began to fall. Oh, Florida, why?
Yellowcard couldn’t play, until the storm passed. I waited in the pouring rain, for what seemed like forever. Finally, I was forced to leave by the time. If I could have stayed, I would. But what can you do, when the day is planned around a ticking clock?
All I have to say now, is I hope Yellowcard had an amazing night. I hope they come back to the wonderful city of St. Petersburg, Florida; and, I hope that none of their fans catch a cold from last night’s storm.
In the end, I’m happy. Even though the night was wasted… it was just a concert. There will always be more.
I suppose I can check this life lesson off my list.
So there’s my story,
Lizzie
